I AM A LOVER OF ALL THINGS BEAUTIFUL. I AM IN LOVE WITH LOVE.

Images, words, sounds, ideas and love…with that as my inspiration, I CREATE.

The seed for my creative spirit was planted when I was 14 years old.  As I watched my classmate write a poem to her boyfriend, I realized that I could create as well.  I was hooked instantly and I’ve never looked back. 

Moving from love, to militancy, to sorrow and full circle back to love…my pen has been “bleeding” every since.  Not long ...

 

after writing my first “awfully sappy” poem, I soon discovered the likes of Langston Hughes, Paul Lawrence Dunbar, Richard Wright, Robert Frost, Edgar Allen Poe, Claude McKay and so many others, who painted amazing images with mere words. That is when my love affair with words began. I realized I could write about the love I wish to know and the love I desired and longed for. I write to allow myself to grow; to share what love has done for me; to inspire others to love and love again; and to paint pictures of a love lost, so that others may find their love.  I write because I have a voice that demands to be heard…because I love words!

I am a poet, graphic designer and a sneaker fanatic!  I have an unhealthy affinity for Diet Dr. Pepper and for Pretty Woman, which is one of my favorite movies. As you can see, I don’t really fit inside any boxes.  My versatility and communication skills are what set me apart.  But what is most remarkable, is that I have the opportunity to nurture my creative spirit by rediscovering the world through the eyes of my two amazing sons, Jah and Zion.
