Jason loves to explore the depths of color and often finds inspiration in his everyday routine, capturing moments through photography, painting and building guitars. While he spends his days focusing his energy in business, Jason’s true passion is finding different forms of expression through his many mediums. He is looking to tap into his business experience to ensure a successful transition of sitting behind the computer, to building guitars and standing in front of an easel. Since an early age, Jason recognized his attraction to vibrant color and began to explore, abstract expressionism on a grand scale through large canvases. object and color, he developed an intense drive to produce aesthetic harmony through the combination of elements – even when a picture is seemingly nothing. Drawing inspiration early on from Picasso and & Warhol, he decided to pick up a paint brush. With no formal training or experience, he found the best way to learn was to imitate those forms of perfection that inspired him. It quickly became apparent his true expression through painting is his ability to manipulate color; discovering the perfect shades of any given color, across its' spectrum.
Jason learned to see all the slight color variants in simple objects and use to the reflection of light and the surrounding space to capture the essence of his abstract art. Jason Kampf is an artist, entrepreneur, photographer, philanthropist, guitarist, luthier and expressive creator. Jason serves as Vice President of CoVant, a Private Equity Firm exclusive with Madison Dearborn Partners in Chicago and & Washington, D.C. He sits on the Board of Directors for The Foundation For Ethnic Understanding, chaired by Russell Simmons. He manages The Kampf Family Foundation, overseeing contributions. Jason works closely with RUSHARTS & RUSHPHILANTHROPIC, National Geographic, The Shakespeare Theatre (Washington, D.C.), and Lorenzo Alexander's A.C.E.S. Foundation. He works in conjunction with the Economics Dept., at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, helping his Father, Joe Kampf, establish the University's, Entrepreneur Program. Jason earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications, Law, Economics & Government fromAmerican University. He is an expert skier and former downhill racer, passionate guitarist and avid Washington Capitals hockey fan. His newest venture is building guitars combining elements unheard of before, producing functional pieces of art based entirely on precision.
