Originally from Syracuse, New York, Dakoro Edwards began as a cartoonist and graffiti artist at the age of 7. Fueled by the creativity of both his parents and his natural inclination for artistry, Edwards' first pieces captured the raw emotions of youth. He ultimately developed and perfected his technique and started his art company, DAK ART. From abstract expressionism to action painting, portraits and murals, his art pieces convey a message ... of passion, truth and sincerity.
Edwards has found success as a brilliant and gifted painter, having his work featured at variuos events throughout Atlanta, including a nomination as National Semi-Finalist with Bombay Sapphire Artisan Serious, National Black Arts Festival, 100 Black Men of America, Tha Manna Scholarship Fund/Winbush House, S.O.C.A F. (Saving Our Children and Families) Non-Profit, Georgia Heart Transplant Association, Bank of America, and TV-ONE Television. Dakoro also continues to provide commissioned art pieces for collector's throughout the world and in Atlanta, Georgia, where he now lives. In the last few years, the migration of his artistry has shifted and now includes clothing, specifically hand-designed sport jackets, T-shirts, and custom fitted hats.
